How To Print Business Cards At Home – How to print business cards at home? Learn what RGB and CMIK are, how to cut cards after printing, and what gold leaf is and how to do it at home.
I am talking about RGB and CMIK. If you switch between CMIK and RGB, you can see that there is a big difference between them. But why are they different?
How To Print Business Cards At Home
If you choose CMIK, it means that every color in the file will be created from a combination of these four colors: Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Key (black), CMIK for short.

This is a pattern of colors used in printing. The four letters refer to the four inks used in the printer. This is the subtractive model. This means that you start with a white paper and it adds colors that make it remove the brightness, in other words with each layer you remove the “white”.
Red-Green-Blue on the other hand does the opposite. White is a combination of all three colors, and black is the absence of all colors. RGB stands for intangible colors, the light itself, while CMIK is the color you can “touch”.
This is why if you create something that will be printed later, the color model you want is CMIK so that you can see the colors as they will be printed on paper. If you use RGB when designing and printing in CMIK, color differences can affect the results. Also note, even if you put your digital images to be in CMIK mode, the result you get will still have a different color, because the monitor emits light that is more, RGB in nature.
There are websites that offer business card printing, but they are far from cheap, they do not offer much variety, and the quality of the final result varies between sites. You can’t tell what you’ll get until you’ve paid for the entire series.

Our recommended option is to use our templates, which are fully customizable, ready to print, and free to download. After choosing the template you want, download it for free and customize it to your liking. At this point your card is ready. Also make sure you don’t put anything in a safe place or a bleeding point during the process. Now that you have your unique business card, use this template so you can lay it out enough to be printed on A4 paper and saved as a PDF.
This format ensures high quality. When the printing is done you have to cut the bleeding area and when you are done, keep in mind that cutting is not as easy as you think (more on that later). If you want, you can bring the PDF file you just created to a local printing service company to print it for you.
On the template we have provided you have 10 business card templates. There are cut marks on the sides, you must follow them to cut the cards perfectly. You have to be careful not to cut the paper all the way through, you don’t have to cut these marks! By this I mean cutting from one side of the paper to the other. You want it to fit mostly in one piece, so you can follow the directions that show you where to cut with a ruler.
Cut the middle first than the outer edges. If you are doing this at home, use a cutter and a ruler. Place the paper on something you don’t intend to cut, be careful not to mess up your desk.
Easy Steps To Design & Print A Business Card Online
The best way to do this is to simply download a custom business card template and print it out, but if you want to go further than that, you can put gold elements on it made of real gold. This method is called gold leafing. Real gold leaf made from 24k gold can cost less than you think because the gold itself can be stretched thin, making it seem weightless. A piece about 3.5×3.5 inches should cost less than $1.
There are several ways to do this, some worse than others, and the intensity varies. Fortunately, the easiest way to do this is also the most robust and accurate. This one might not be the most budget-friendly, but it’s still the best value because the quality is so high.
The cheapest way is this: put special glue on the surface you want to foil in the shape of the design you want to finish (you can do this in different ways, like stepping or cutting the special glue tape in the shape, but we think that all are boring or difficult, so we don’t go into the details). After this, press the gold leaf firmly on the paper covered with glue, and remove the foil so that only the part with glue sticks to it.
The second (best) method, which we found to be the easiest, is to use toner from a laser printer. For this you need a laminating machine, which should not be too expensive, or you can use metal. It is important to print your design with a laser printer as it needs toner in it for this to work. If you don’t have a laser printer go somewhere else and don’t forget to mention that you need a laser printer. After doing this, you need to make a sandwich. Here’s the design: your design is in the middle, there should be gold leaf on top, then cover them with paper and run through the laminating machine. If you don’t have it, fix it. If you burn the paper while pressing, the toner will burn and stick and as a result will hold the gold instead. We recommend using a laminating machine, and we used this with Deco foil (a type of gold leaf). This method seems to be the most effective and accurate. From the everyday to the special. We have a wide range of business cards for you to choose from.
Business Card Templates
Business cards are still a fun way to share your name and contact information with customers, prospects and people you meet during your work day. Despite today’s technology, business cards are still useful. Do you want to stand out from the crowd with something attractive? Why not choose your own Spot UV, which highlights areas like your logo in the photo with a UV varnish. Printed on 450gsm with matte lamination, Spot UV is the application of a UV coating to part of the printed area, often achieving contrast between the matte lamination.
Spot UV extension finishing adds a raised UV varnish to selected areas on our matte laminated cards
When you provide the print files, you must also provide images of the UV spot itself. Please always send as 1 pdf with 4 pages inside. Pg 1 – Artwork Front // Pg 2 – Artwork Back // Pg 3 – Spot UV Front // Pg 4 – Spot UV Back
Spot UV artwork should have solid black shapes – 100% K only and at the exact spot on the page where the spot UV is needed, preferably in a vector as opposed to a bitmap formula. The Spot UV should be on a separate page and have the same dimensions and plant marks in the same place as the printed file.

NOTE: Spot UV varnish is applied using the same process as screen printing and has a registration tolerance of up to ± 0.5mm. Therefore, it is not recommended that small text or thin lines be seen on the UV level as perfect registration cannot be guaranteed.
