Although it may seem like a small change, changing the color of your front door is a quick project that can make a big impact. A fresh coat of paint can instantly boost your home’s curb appeal, set the tone for your exterior, and make a noticeable first impression on visitors. Best of all, it’s a simple do-it-yourself job that even a novice home decorator can handle. If you’re planning to paint your front door, consider one of these trendy shades.

Entry Door And Shutter Color Combos That Increase Curb Appeal

Despite its name, Farrow & Ball’s Crimson Red is actually a warm pink that feels soft and inviting. It allows you to lean on that modern pink aesthetic while still feeling grounded. Patrick O’Donnell, international brand ambassador for Farrow & Ball, says: “Crimson Red is deceptive – a deep, dark rose with an almost earthy character.” It goes well with red brick or adds interest to a white board house. “It’s an elegant and sophisticated option and gives a sense of warmth beyond the threshold,” he says.

Stunning greens and blues like Farrow & Ball’s Smoke Green will easily connect the front of your home with the rest of its surroundings. Deep shade with red brick or sandstone is beautiful, says O’Donnell.

White is a timeless front door color that will always stay on trend. Looking for the perfect shade? Cozy White Valspar is the perfect choice. It’s a warm neutral that exudes warmth and security – what could be more appropriate for a front door? Sue Kim, director of color marketing for Valspar, says the soothing cream shade pairs beautifully with warm wood tones and other neutral accents.

Get inspired by nature and cover your front door with dark green earthy shades like Ber vine leaves. Accent shades add beauty to your home’s exterior, says Erica Woelfel, Burr’s vice president of color and creative services. “It’s a bold, classy green that makes a dramatic statement and is a sophisticated accent to draw attention to the front door,” she says.

Choose a front door color that contrasts with the exterior of your home to create an attractive focal point. A soft black like Behr’s Cracked Pepper (the company’s 2024 color of the year) is a modern color that will add depth to your home’s facade. “This color can be used successfully for dramatic effect. It has a sophisticated sense of versatility and works as a neutral that complements almost any wood tone, metallic finish, and decorative color,” says Woelfel.

A beautiful and understated shade, Room Sulking Farrow & Ball Pink will add a welcoming feel to your home front. The warm and muted shade of rose has a powdery appearance, which makes it soft and easy to mix with other colors, such as white and gray.

The timeless love of blue never ends, especially shades at the darker end of the color family, like Farrow & Ball’s Drawing Room Blue, says O’Donnell. A blue shade found in Delft tiles, this version gives your home a lively and fresh feel. “Like Delft, it’s a very stylish option for whitewashed exteriors, but it will also work with brick and stone as an alternative to classic black,” says O’Donnell.

Make your home stand out from the rest on your block with unique shades like Glidden PPG’s Endless Paint. A beautiful honey color can make the entrance to your home pleasant for guests. “Bottom reflects natural light and makes an entryway feel larger and more spacious, which can be especially helpful for smaller or darker entryways,” says Ashley McCollum, Glidden Paint by PPG paint specialist.

Front Door Paint Colors To Brighten Up Your Entryway

For a neutral door color that still feels neutral and blends well with a range of exterior details, choose a dark, neutral gray like Kendall Benjamin Moore Charcoal. This particular shade of charcoal has the softest warmth. “It’s no secret that grays have been trending for the past few years. We’ve noticed lately that people are gravitating toward charcoal gray and black,” says Arianna Baron, color marketing manager at Benjamin Moore.

As an alternative to a deeper blue, consider a cooler version that still has charm and warmth, like Valspar Blue Arrow. This shade has a strong association with sky and water, making it the perfect choice for your front door, says Kim.

A collection of the best blue gray colors and patterns in real homes! There are many beautiful and peaceful options that work well for walls, doors and more!

Today’s post is exciting! I’m finally sharing our newly painted interior front door with the best teal paint color options! I spent a lot of time researching the perfect blue gray color to use and I think I found a winner for our home. But since natural light can play a huge factor in how color looks in a home, I’m also sharing my other top picks!

Previously, our front door was painted Benjamin Moore Hale Navy. I actually really liked the color, but thought it was a bit dark for this part of our entryway, not getting much natural light. The door also took a bit of a beating during our kitchen renovation last summer and needed a fresh coat of paint regardless. I decided to go with a muddy blue gray with some green undertones (as opposed to purple). Something that is calm and relaxing and reminds me of the beach, but without being too saturated or “baby” blue. And while I’ve used blue gray in beach-inspired spaces, the shade can be beautiful in more modern spaces!

How To Pick The Best Exterior Paint Colors For Your Home’s Style

I have spent many hours searching the internet and asking many of my readers what their favorite options are. After collecting all the results, I will share the best blue-gray colors! Somewhat surprisingly, no Sherwin-Williams colors made the list. I think they would shine in slightly greener versions of these colors (like Sherwin-Williams Sea Salt). Below are my top picks for the best blue-grey colors!

Below in this post I will share real life examples of what these colors look like in real places! I’m also sharing a fun update to our entryway using my favorite blue-grey color! If you want to try large, pre-painted samples, I would definitely check out Sampliz to choose a blue gray color for your home! Their shell and wood samples are made with real colors (not painted with imitation colors), so it can definitely help narrow down your choices.

In early 2019, I tested three paint samples on my front door. From left to right you see (all Benjamin Moore): Wedgewood Grey, Van Courtland Blue,
